A staple of 1980s design, sliding shower doors framed in gold-tone metal was the signature look for new construction and remodeling projects at the time.
Updating any 80s-style room is wonderfully satisfying, and especially so when done with the right approach. See how Sunshine Sunrooms completely transformed a tired guest bathroom into a gorgeous showpiece.
A Simple Bathroom Remodel with Stunning Results
The setup: Complete with outdated floral wallpaper, a gold-tone framed sliding shower door, wood paneling, and beige tile flooring, this 1980s bathroom was a project the team undertook with relish. The pros at Sunshine Sunrooms laid out a plan to upgrade this bathroom to something modern and eye-catching.
The goal: To take this out-of-date bathroom from drab to fab with modern details and a clean aesthetic.
The Process: For this bathroom renovation, the Sunshine Sunrooms team worked to keep the overall structure of the space intact. The old shower door, which sits atop a standard size tub, was replaced with one that has pleasing modern detail.
The bathroom was gutted to the studs, but without altering its footprint. The interior of the finished shower features beautiful patterned stone tile and the flooring was replaced with a gorgeous neutral shade of tile floor that matches the shower’s interior. The room now features frameless glass shower doors with stainless steel hardware accents.
